When Mike and I were kids and our family would visit the Simons, Uncle Rod always had amusing antics to entertain us. One favorite that I remember most was when he would wave his hands mysteriously at the kitchen light, and the lights would dim and brighten, back and forth. We were thoroughly impressed - I think we requested this trick a number of times.

I'm pretty sure we fell for this trick for far longer than we should have, and I remember finally realizing that Greg Simon was not confused by the trick like we were - but part of it. His "puzzled head scratching" was actually him standing in front of the light switch and turning the dimmer up and down. Sadly, I'm no longer enthralled by the magic of dimming lights, but Uncle Rod at least made them fun for a while.
